Project Description
01/2022 UPDATE: The Windsor Farm Trails have been taken to a new level due to funding through the NPS Cost Share Program and The AARP Community Challenge grant. They will be opened at the end of January 2022 with new signage, trails, picnic tables and benches, on line mapping and directional signage to enhance user experience for walkers and mountain bikers.
The VI Trail Alliance has been maintaining 12 miles of trails over the last several years on the Windsor Farm Property owned by the Department of Agriculture. Recently the Commissioner of Agriculture, T Nelson has signed an MOU (memorandum of understanding) with VITAL to allow for the public use of these trails. VITAL under the management of Win Welsh is working with collaborative partners to improve, increase and provide new signage for the trail routes. Previous signs were damaged during the hurricanes of 2017.
These trails allow Public Access to Estate Windsor land for Walking and Biking during daylight use only as per the MOU. No motorized vehicles are allowed.
Please use responsibly as it is a privilege that can be lost.
