DOA Commissioner, Positive Nelson, Signs MOU with VITAL for Public Access to Trails on the Windsor Farm Properties

VITAL has been working diligently to design, build and maintain approximately 14.5 miles of primitive trails on  the Windsor Farm Properties owned by the Department of Agriculture.  This land is located in the North-West section of St. Croix and connects to the Scenic Road and nearby heights of land.  The trails have been enjoyed by many for walking and dirt biking but are underutilized.

The Commissioner of Agriculture, Terrance “Positive” Nelson supports VITALs vision and has signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will allow increased public access and use of these trails.  Over the next few months these trails will be improved through DOA collaboration  with improved signage and parking as well as mapping so that the public can explore and connect with nature through recreational activities.  This progress has been made possible through the work of Win Welsh and Aaron Hutchins along with dedicated volunteers.
